Guide for Intended Parents
The Journey to becoming an Intended Parent through Surrogacy can be a highly-complicated process and overwhelming. Where do I start? Who do we trust? Who qualifies for Surrogacy?
Why Do I Need a Surrogacy Provider?
The Surrogacy Journey begins by finding a Surrogacy Agency — starting with an initial consultation to discuss the overall Surrogacy process, costs, and legal perspective (unless you have decided to use your own Surrogate Mother).
With FindSuurrogateMother.com, Surrogate Mother's are able to place a classified ad for you to view. When you choose to work with a specific agency, you will submit an application to provide your expectations and details concerning your unique situation. The application will be used to create your personal file. Review our Intended Parent Application Example. Typically agencies will require you and your partner to undergo lab tests or a semen analysis.
What is a Retainer Agreement in Surrogacy?
Once you have selected an agency to work with, a retainer agreement is introduced. The retainer agreement exemplifies a signed agreement for the initial fees collected to begin your search for the Surrogate Mother that best fits your situation.
Surrogate profiles will be available to review including the Surrogates questionnaire, medical history and interview details.
How can the Legal Contract Provide Protection?
After the Surrogate Mother has been selected — legal contracts are drawn up between the Intended Parents/Surrogate Mother/Egg Donor to establish the legal rights of each party involved. This provides each party protection during the Surrogacy Arrangement.
Once everyone is in agreement and the legal contracts are signed, an escrow account is established for payment arrangements.
When do I begin the Cycle Management?
As the matching process deems successful; the medications for management of cycles and preparation for embryo transfer originates.
It is up to you and the Surrogate Mother to extend the relationship throughout the pregnancy. The process of instituting parental rights starts in the second trimester of the pregnancy. Intended Parents are present at the birth of their child.
The JOURNEY is defined by the BIRTH of a new life – a new family.
